Girl! that's a serious giveaway!!
Okay, I found your blog b/c of GIFT :)
As for field trip ideas.....hmmmm.
I'm sure you've already been up to Raleigh for adoption stuff. We had a blast there at the FREE museums of science and history...actually plan to go again as we have some more paperwork that has to be done there.
The Harvest Grains Bread company has a cool homeschool tour that they do.
The Post Office has offered tours of the PO and explanation on how the postal system works.
Ft. Fisher is only about an hour and 15 minutes from here...free parking for military families and beach access! There is also the Botanical Gardens here...prettiest in spring :)
Another idea that the kids might find disgusting but interesting would be a field trip to the waste management local offices to find out what happens to our trash!
I know there's also been trips to the water treatment plant....which can be pretty gross, but very interesting!!
My favorite place to eat here is Jason's Deli. If you haven't tried it...I highly recommend it!
LOVE their organic salad bar!!
The kids love it there too!
School starts for us on Monday!!
Is Katie taking dance again? Halle's taking Tues. night ballet and Wed. afternoon modern.

as for where to go on a field trip...if you have a near by zoo, my classes always had fun there...

you could simply bring them to the park or something and have a craft day or do an activity related to what they are learning too.

WOW...what a great giveaway! Definitely count me in.
Let's see...hmmm...one of my fave local restaurants is The Cracker Barrel.
I honestly can't remember how I first found your family blog - probably through another AWAA family blog. And then found your homeschool blog through your family blog. We're going to homeschool so I'm always on the lookout for advice and ideas!
As far as field trips - we LOVE the zoo and can't wait to take Abigail there. We visit the zoo in just about every destination that has one.
I also look forward to taking her to children's museums that have hands on learning centers.
In Texas, the Alamo is an awesome field trip destination as well as all of the culture that San Antonio provides - one of our fave places to go!
Branson, Missouri is another great destination for vacation and field trip learning. We will definitely be taking Abigail to Silver Dollar City - glassblowing, basket weaving, cooking, carpentry, candymaking are just some of the demonstrations you can find there! If you haven't ever been you should check it out!
This is probably much more than you ever wanted to know.
Thanks for such a generous giveaway!

It's me again - I thought of another field trip idea and it's FREE! You're probably already aware of this, but just in case you're not. Lowe's and Home Depot have Saturdays each month when they provide workshops for children. If I remember right it usually takes less than an hour. And they get live with what they make. Just a quick, fun,FREE field trip!

WOW!!! I just posted a link on my blog so that my friends can come over and check the blog out.

As to how I found you: I was blog hopping off of other people's comment section...color me embarassed!!!

And the most fun we have ever had on a field trip was when we went to Publix grocery store, and they kept giving us free samples as we toured the store! Love those free samples :)

This weekend we are going to the Great Salt Plains in OK for a field trip to dig for crystals... really the kids just love to dig, finding something will make it extra special!
We just visited the beach for the first time this month! It was the best field trip! We looked for crabs (ghost, hermit, and blue ones!) We also saw pelicans & dolphins! The best!!!
Favorite place to eat- HuHot Mongolian Grill:)
I really enjoyed reading your blog!
